FIMMA BRAZIL 2017 ENDS WITH A POSITIVE OUTLOOK
The FIMMA Brazil 2017 concluded on Friday (31) with a positive balance. The organizers estimate that approximately 25,000 visitors attended the event over its four days. In a press conference, the FIMMA Brazil 2017 board, led by its president Rogério Francio and the president of MOVERGS, Volnei Benini, released the partial results of the event, which took place in Bento Gonçalves, Rio Grande do Sul.
Another important figure presented was 1.2 thousand business rounds held by the Buyer Project — 50% more than in the 2015 edition. The strategic initiative brought 50 international buyers to Brazil from countries such as the United States, Mexico, Panama, Chile, Colombia, Peru, the United Kingdom, the United Arab Emirates, Argentina, Uruguay, Bolivia, and South Africa. “This represents US$ 3.3 million in deals made at the fair alone,” stated Francio.
To select the participants, FIMMA reached out to 440 buyers before narrowing it down to the final list. Among the criteria were representativeness, work segment, and acceptance within companies. “There’s also the forecast of an additional US$ 20 million over the next 12 months, stemming from the meetings and contacts made here.”
The president also highlighted that of the 360 exhibitors and 500 brands present, 30% were companies that had never exhibited at the event before. “This shows that new exhibitors believed in the potential of our event and the recovery of the national economy,” he validated, adding: “Crisis and opportunity walk hand in hand, but we always prefer to ride the waves of opportunity.”
